I HAVE A STRAIGHT..."thought I did"

This information may help you not make the mistake of thinking you caught a straight when in fact you did not...it has happen to many players.
In major TV event, final two players ($500,000.00 difference lst and 2nd). Player "thought" he had straight called and found to his embarrassment he did not).

There may be times when your opponent calls out "I've got a straight".
You then muck 2 pair, only to find out they did not have straight.
First, never muck your hand until you have verifed you are beat,
at least turn your cards face up.

CAN YOU FIND THE STRAIGHT IN THE CARDS BELOW?

YOU HAVE 5 SECONDS!

K Q 6 4 A 3 8 9 J A 7 A 2 Q 4 9 K 3 2 8 6 8 Q J 2 7

TIME is UP YOU ONLY HAD 5 SECONDS. "
TIP" NO 5! NO 10! NO STRAIGHT!

When you are "looking" to verify a straight
don't look to find 5 in sequence!Look
ONLY for a 5 or 10!

If you can't find either then NO STRAIGHT!
Now verify a STRAIGHT ABOVE only looking for a 5 or 10,
you can do that in 5 seconds.

TEXAS HOLD'EM SMALL PAIRS

Small pairs 22-77 can cost you a lot of money if played incorrectly.
Knowing some simple data will help you understand why small pair should be played with caution, especially in early position.

DATA: Small Pairs 22-77. Appx 85% of the time you will NOT flop a set AND be OVERCARDED on the flop (all cards higher than your pair).Play small pair as cheaply as possible, usually not good idea to call a raise due to the data listed above.

You are hoping to flop a set - get in cheap - if you miss flop be ready to fold to a bet.

BLACKJACK INSTRUCTION TIPS

Did you know that Blackjack is listed as one of the worst games to play in the casino IF you are not playing perfect "Basic Strategy"...which 95% of blackjack players do not...that is why there are so many blackjack tables...casino benefits from poor play strategy by players.

The reason basic strategy is so difficult to master (perfect 270 decisions) is that the format for basic strategy for the past 50 years has been in a "row/chart format".

I developed a memory method for that chart format, called: Blackjack "Magic". Players can memoraize all 270 blackjack decisions in about two hours. I have been conducting blackjack seminars for past 20 years using this method...my students are playing PERFECT BLACKJACK.
By blogs will include Blackjack as well as Texas Hold'Em Poker and Craps lessons and tips that will help you improve your game.

#1. DOUBLE DOWN WITH PLAYER TOTAL OF 9? Double down with 9 when the dealer shows a; 3-4-5-6.
MEMORY: 3 + 6 = 9
Double Down with 9 with dealer's 3 - 6 (3 thru 6)
3 + 6 = 9
Repeat that a few times and you will be able to recall when to double down with 9 when you are at the table.

#2. DOUBLE DOWN WITH PLAYER'S: 10
The "chart" lists to double down with dealer's 2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9
MEMORY: ALWAYS EXCEPT 10 or Ace
Repeat that a few times and you will "always" know when to double down with 10.

#3 DOUBLE DOWN WITH PLAYER's 11 The basic strategy charts list to double down with dealer's 2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10.
To many numbers...use the memory aid below, very easy to memorize.

MEMORY: ALWAYS EXCEPT ACE. Repeat that a few times and you will quickly recall when to double down with 11.

TEXAS HOLD'EM POKER TIPS

Some poker tips that may improve your game.

1. TEXAS HOLD'EM POKER! TWO SUITED CARDS! If you start with two suited cards many players think quickly "...possible flush..." think I will try for this.

What is important to know are the "number/percentages" in poker in regard to your drawing hand.

94% of the time YOU WILL NOT MAKE YOUR FLUSH BY THE RIVER.

With that information you should play your; A4, A6, A7 (weak aces) with caution, and fold them in early position in a full game.

2. POKER! Many of you may already know this but I find in my poker seminars that there are many "experienced" poker players that did not know:

NO 5 NO 10 = NO STRAIGHT POSSIBLE

If it has not happen it will. Your opponent calls out, .."I have a straight.." and throws their two cards on the table = 7 cards to look at to find the straight.

At times the dealer will miss that they don't have a straight and pass pot to them, you even missed it.

DON'T LOOK AT ALL THE CARDS AND TRY TO FIND THE STRAIGHT

...first just look for a FIVE or a TEN, if you can't see any then stop the actions right there,

NO STRAIGHT.

NO 5 NO 10 NO STRAIGHT. May come in handy some time.

3. TEXAS HOLD'EM POKER! POCKET ACES DATA! You have probably read before about pocket Aces: "You will win a small pot or lose a big pot.."

Many pros and poker books suggest you should slow play pocket aces 1/3 of the time. You have to pick the spot based on the profile of you players to your left. You would want loose/aggressive players who you know will probably raise.

But how do you figure out the 1/3 of the time...

Years ago players would look at their watch. If the second hand was between the 8 or 12, that happens 1/3 of the time...they might slow play the aces.

Most watches do not have a second hand, so you can do it this way.

If the Aces are the same color, that happens 1/3 of the time.
